Depart Watamu Pier on a traditional ngalawa outrigger or motorboat across the turquoise Indian Ocean shallows. As you approach Love Island (Isola dell'Amore), a perfect white sandbank slowly materialises from the sea - surrounded by nothing but aquamarine water in every direction. The crossing is a magical experience in itself.
Arrive at this paradise sandbank - only accessible by boat and completely uninhabited. Swim in warm, crystal-clear water that barely reaches waist height for 50 metres in every direction. Snorkel over the coral patches on the island's edge. Photograph the endless blue horizon. This is as close to a private island as you can get in Kenya.
Nashon's team serves a romantic fresh seafood lunch on the sand - grilled fish, prawns, local salads, fresh coconut. After lunch, lounge on the pristine white sand, collect shells, or take sunset-worthy photographs. Sail back to Watamu in the early afternoon.
