Full Day (~10 hrs)

Che Shale, Robinson's Island & Grand Canyons Marafa

A magical trio - the secluded Che Shale beach, a boat ride to the wild Robinson's Island, and the sunset drama of Marafa's Hell's Kitchen red sandstone canyons.

What to Expect

MORNING - CHE SHALE BEACH

Drive north along the coast to the secluded paradise of Che Shale beach - a hidden gem known only to locals and discerning travellers. This pristine stretch of white sand fringed by coconut palms is virtually untouched. Swim, snorkel, or simply walk barefoot along the empty shore.

LATE MORNING - ROBINSON'S ISLAND

Board a local outrigger canoe and paddle or motor across to Robinson's Island - a wild, uninhabited island accessible only at certain tides. Explore its deserted beaches, mangrove edges, and abundant birdlife. Picnic lunch on the island with fresh local food prepared by Nashon.

AFTERNOON - MARAFA GRAND CANYONS

Drive inland to Marafa Depression - locally known as "Hell's Kitchen" (Nyari). These extraordinary red and white sandstone formations glow like fire at sunset. Carved by centuries of wind and water erosion, the canyons are a geological marvel and a sacred site to the local Giriama people. Explore the paths between the formations as the setting sun turns everything golden.
